What I've Been Up To....

Source
As some of you may know.  I am a full-time Zumba instructor.  One of the services I offer is Zumba on the Go.  I bring the music, instructions and equipment to any home, school, work place, business, church, etc.

A company by the name of PMSI hired me to do a 4 week Zumba program for there health awareness month.  They have 2 locations in the Tampa Bay area.  I've been traveling every week to both locations to conduct Zumba classes with the ladies there.  So I've been super busy because not only do I have to travel to both PMSI locations but I also have my regular schedule with various classes that I teach at different locations.  My experience at PMSI have been super fun and the ladies love the Zumba classes.

Healthy Recipe: Salmon Burgers with Green Goddess Sauce

Source

Ingredients:
1 pound wild salmon fillet, skinned (see Tip)
2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion, or scallion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 teaspoon finely chopped peeled fresh ginger
1/4 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, or canola oil
4 tablespoons Green Goddess Sauce, (recipe follows)

Directions:
With a large chef’s knife, chop salmon using quick, even, straight-up-and-down motions (do not rock the knife through the fish or it will turn mushy) until you have a mass of roughly 1/4-inch pieces. Transfer to large bowl and gently stir in onion (or scallion), cilantro, ginger, salt and pepper, being careful not to overmix. Divide the mixture into 4 patties, about 1 inch thick. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes (or up to 2 hours) before cooking.

Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the burgers and cook until browned on both sides and just cooked through, 4 to 6 minutes total. Serve with 1 tablespoon Green Goddess Sauce each.

The 5 Biggest Fitness Mistakes

Source

Mistake #1: You Don't Lift Weights
You’ve no doubt been told that aerobic exercise is the key to losing your gut, but weight training is actually more valuable. Three reasons:
1. Lifting protects your muscle.
2. Lifting boosts your metabolism.
3. Lifting torches calories.

Mistake #2: You Don’t Use the Right Dumbbells
Your goal is to challenge your muscles, not just go through the motions. For instance, if you can lift a weight 15 times, it’s not going to do your muscles much good to lift it for only 8 repetitions.

Mistake #3: You Don’t Work Your Lower Body
To cut inches from your waist, make sure you’re working the muscles below your belt.

Mistake #4: You Don’t Watch What You Eat
You can’t out-exercise a bad diet. After all, you can eat 1,000-calorie fast food burger in just 5 minutes, but it’ll take you more than an hour to burn that many calories with physical activity.

Mistake #5: You Skip Workouts
We’re all busy, but that’s usually just a lame excuse. After all, plenty of people find time to exercise. And when was the last time you heard someone say they regretted their workout?
